The Laboratory of the African Studies of Algiers 2 University Abou El Kacem Saâdallah organizes a national conference on “The African Personalities through the ages”, under the slogan “Africa for the Africans”..

The Laboratory of the African Studies of Algiers 2 University Abou El Kacem Saâdallah, organized on October 20th and 21st, 2021 et the grand auditorium of Bouzaréah, a national conference on “The African Personalities through the ages”, under the slogan “Africa for the Africans”.

 

The Conference was opened by Prtofessor Abdelaziz Boukenna’s address, who valued its theme; he passed the floor afterwards to the African Studies Laboratory Head, Pr. Monce Bekkai, who focused on the importance of correcting Africa history concepts.

 

For her part, the conference President, Pr. Saoudi Yasmine, delivered her speech through which she focused the importance of highlighting, during the conference, some forgotten African personalities.

 

On his side, the Vice-rector in charge of Post Graduation and Scientific Research, Pr. Kamel Boumnir, thanked through his address all those who participated in the organization of the conference while indicating its importance, announcing afterwards the official opening of its works.

The conference, which lasted two days, included six scientific sessions and different workshops, in which the intervening teachers who came from different wilayas of the country discussed various topics, including:  a paper on the king Masinissa and his great achievements; Abdelkrim Khattabi, his life and career; the character of Firmus, Nelson Mandela, the legendary fighter; Sanhaja South princes and their role in the religious and political awakening in the Great Desert, and many other relating topics, to conclude on the second day with a set of recommendations.
